A ralaxed and natural family photo shoot
It always feels great when I can welcome my amazing clients into my teeny tiny studio or go out with them for a location photo shoot. It feels even better when they trust me and welcome me into their most special place – their home. I feel privileged and truly honoured when I am let to be a part of their personal world, even for just a short time. The reason why they would invite me to their house is to do a so called 'lifestyle photo shoot’, usually with their newborn or just a family photoshoot. Today, I would like to tell you about an amazing family that I visited a few weeks ago to capture their special memories.
A new addition
Emily and I have been in touch over email and phone, trying to decide on the best location / option to photograph her family. They recently welcomed a new addition to the family, baby Gabriel, and wished to capture these first moments together. We decided that meeting in their home would probably be the best option, as their little girl Rosalie could feel relaxed and happy and the photo shoot would hopefully go smoothly and in great atmosphere.
Home is where the heart is…
…They say. And this home was so so full of heart, meaning love 🙂 I was welcomed into the house by a gorgeous smiling mum and dad, and introduced to the rest of the family shortly. I often say that being a photographer hardly ever feels like 'work’ as I get to hang out with great people, and can snap some happy memories for them at the same time. This time wasn’t any different.
I spent around an hour with Emily and her cute family, capturing their life as it happened. There were giggles, cuddles, Rosalie and I did some drawing together and generally had a fantastic time. We then went out to the meadow nearby to catch some fresh air and have some play around. Rosalie and daddy played hide and seek and again, there were giggles and lots and lots of joy 🙂
Lifestyle photo shoot is a great alternative to a studio based photo shoot
Lifestyle photography offeres my clients the chance to get professional photos taken, without the need and hassle of going out to the studio or another location. There is minimal direction from me and instead of fancy backdrops and props, we just have some time together and record the raw, most genuine and undirected emotions. This option is especially convenient for new parents, particularly mums after the c-section, for whom leaving the house may be a bit problematic, especially in the first few days afer having the baby.
If you are expecting a baby and would like them beautifully photographed, but the thought of venturing out with a newborn scares you, don’t worry. I will come to you house and will photograph you with your precious baby. Your memories will not be lost.
Emily – thank you once again for a lovely afternoon and trusting me to be a part of your life for a day. It has been great meeting you and capturing your life happiness.

And now I will let the images speak for themselves. 🙂
