Two chapters of Baby Rita’s Story – Maternity and Newborn Shoot
I can’t believe how long it took me to share these images with you. Ever since the day I met Paulina and Adrian, bubbly and happy parents to be, I have been itching 🙂
But let’s go back to where it all started – the initial enquiry. Paulina is a creative, talented individual with great eye for detail and a clear vision of what she wanted her maternity shoot to look like. As summer was drawing to an end we were hoping to get some nice vibrant feel, with lots of sunshine, warm hues, high grass and a nice, almost boho feel. From what Paulina descried I felt I knew just the right location that would tick all her boxes. The only thing was that thsay would need to drive over an hour and a half to me – turned out it was not a problem for them 🙂 They trusted me totally, even though they had never been to Exeter or surrounding areas.
We chose a late afternoom time to make sure we could catch some of the nice warm sun rays.
The combination of high red, yellow and brown grass and Paulina’s auburn hair and mustard dress seemed like the very definiton of 'picture perfect’. As you can surely agree, Paulina felt really natural in front of the camera, and enjoyed the attentiveness, closeness and tenderness that her husband showed her throughout. It came as naturally as it could, no forced poses or laughs.
One thing worth noting is that Paulina is a talented and keen macrame maker. She has a huge collection of stunning, bespoke products in her store and on the phone she asked me if I felt it would be a good idea to maybe bring a tippee she made..
Was it a good call? Absolutely. If you want to see more of her gorgeous creations click HERE
I was planning to share a maximum of 10 images from this shoot, however I confess – I can’t get them down to 10. I feel (in a nice way, I promise 🙂 ) jealous of how beautiful these two looked and what a beautiful set up we managed to capture. I wish I could go back to the time I was pregnant (7 years ago), have the same confidence and love for my body as this mum-to-be had. Girl, you rock.
Even though we were focusing on the boho look and spend most of the time romping around the bushes, we could not make the most of the nearby sea and beach. We climbed the dunes (and took some images there too) and went on to have a little play on the beach. By the time we finished at sunset it was empty.
BABY IS HERE
And a mere several weeks later it was time for a refresher shoot, the next chapter of this story. With Baby Rita making an appearance just before Christmas it was great catching up with these two and their little lady
Just look at this spitting image of daddy 🙂
