Devon wedding photographer
I met Natalie and Sam on one hot summer evening to have a quick drink in an Exeter quay pub and chat over the details of their big day. We happily chatted about their plans, ideas, dreams and also about some venue changes that they had to face. They introduced me to their chosen ceremony, couples shoot and wedding reception locations and at that point I knew that we were up for a great day, set in places that were close to their hearts.
On their big day on 24th June 2017, Natalie surrounded by her closest relatives was getting glamed up in their beautiful home in East Budleigh. Natalie told me before the wedding that they have a dog named Taz and it is really important that I take at least a few shots of him on the day. It was easier than you may think since Taz is the sweetest French bulldog you can imagine. He kept either sniffing wedding gear (for instance shoes or the dress) or sitting on my lap 🙂 We became friends straight away. Even today when met the happy trio again, Taz propped himself gently on my leg, thus confirming that we are indeed still friends 🙂
Here is how the preparations looked like
A beautiful ceremony took place in All Saints Church, overlooking picturesque East Budleigh. The happy couple walked out of the church greeted by their well wishers and showered in confetti 🙂
We then made our way to Budleigh Salterton beach to get some couples shots. This location was specifically requested by the couple as they both grew around that area and this place was of special importance to them. I actually couldn’t have suggested a better place myself. They felt happy, relaxed and 'at home’ during their photo shoot and when you look at their joyful images you can definitely feel that.
When Natalie showed me their chosen wedding reception venue website, I almost sqeeked with joy.
Higher Eggbeer is one of the most atmospheric venues I have ever visited, offering both the charm of a stylish elegant wedding venue and a rustic feel of a country home. The ower made me personally feel very welcome and assisting me in doing my job on the day. He looked after the couple and their guests with unrivalled attention. It was an absolute delight to be a part of this great celebration.
Natalie and Sam – thank you once again for trusting me and letting me be a part of your amazing day <3 I wish you many years in health and happiness 🙂
