Middle Coombe Farm Wedding – Lucy & Gary.
Exeter and Devon wedding photographer
I met Lucy and Gary a few months ago for a nice chat over a cup of coffee at Exeter Waitrose cafe. They told me about their fantastic farm wedding plans and I was ever so thrilled that they chose me to be their wedding photographer. They told me about the flowers that they were growing to use on the day and all the attractions that they prepared for their family and friends.
When the count down was over I made my way to the Devonshire country side to find this amazing location that they chose as their wedding venue.
Middle Coombe Farm Wedding
As soon as I pulled into the farm estate I was greeted by the lovely owner who showed me around and made me feel welcome and looked after. I then took out the camera out my bag and went to have a look around the estate. I could not believe that such a gem is just round the corner, set in a picturesque Devon countryside. Acres of woodland, a beautiful camping site, an open air swimming pool and many many more attractions that the couple and their guests alike could enjoy. Have a look at their website to get a feel for what this fabulous place has to offer.
Before the Ceremony
Some of the guests spent the night before the ceremony in their tents, followed by a chilled out morning. I loved watching as the kids were having so much fun and to join them as they were engaged in some fun farm-based role plays (check out the tractor). I even got invited to help out with fixing one of them, such a treat 🙂 The guests were having a blissful morning either reading a book, cooking the classic English breakfast, or dipping in the pool or jacuzzi.
In the farm house
Lucy and her immediate family enjoyed a happy family reunion and again it was a real pleasure to capture how the kids were having lots of fun, whilst the grown ups were having a nibble and were catching up on each other news. Such an amazing family and great atmosphere to witness.
An eventful day in a nutshell
After a relaxing morning both the groom and the bride started their preparations, surrounded by their loved ones. I was told that Lucy’s sister knew what bride and groom were wearing, to make sure they were matching in style, but neither of them knew what the other one chose to wear. Well, Lucy’s sister -you did an amazing job as they both looked super stylish. A fitted sequined dress for Lucy and a nice relaxed look for Gary matched in colour and they looked absolutely awesome.
The ceremony took place in a specially converted barn, followed by drinks, congratulations and laughter outside. The guests then all made their way to a woodland glade where the speeches and refreshments were had. After that the party returned to the marquee where they enjoyed amazing meals prepared by In The Frame Catering And when I say 'amazing’ I am not just guessing – Hazel, the lady behind the In the Frame Catering looked after me well and I had a chance to try her amazing white chocolate & passion fruit cheesecake or almond and fig tart and other food creations. Honestly, hands down. A real treat to the taste buds.
No wedding would be complete without a little bit of dancing. What was a ceremony venue in the midday, turned into a spacious dance hall and was shortly taken over by a cheerful youth crowd. When I was leaving everyone was in great mood and I am sure they all continued to have the time of their lives.
It was indeed a beautiful day with a chilled out and relaxed atmosphere. Gary and Lucy looked and felt amazing and no wonder they did, being surrounded by a lovely bunch of friends and family in such a great location.
Lucy & Gary,
Once again, thank you for choosing me to capture your fabulous day. May your future be a happy and bright one 🙂
