One fine day with a family on their farm
I promised to take you to a idyllic location where a cute family and their happy cows reside so here we go.
Mason is one of my regulars who first came to me for a cuddle when he was mere few days old. He slept soundly throughout his newborn photo shoot and his images are truly loved by his family. Actually, Mason’s family home is like a walk-in Aga Kowalska Photography Show. So many images are produly displayed and loved every day. Wamrs my heart every time I think about how much joy and happiness these images bring.
We then met at his family farm in August 2018, then yet again for his farm themed cake smash photo shoot and again in May 2019. (Can you spot an ongoing theme? 😉 Farm, farm, farm… 🙂 )
Life on a Farm
It is strictly ruled and scheduled around the needs of the livestock so we arranged to meet when all family members were free and relaxed and had finished their duties. Leah and Rowan showed me again around their farm, pointed to things that have changed since last time I went there and introduced new calves to me 🙂 I adore listening to Leah how she talks about her cows. She knows their numbers off by heart, knows which one was more amicable then others, which has just had a calf, how old each one of them was and so on.
Mason spends time with the cows daily too, he helps his family with everyday tasks so he is used to being around the animals and they are too. A truly lovely bond.
Have a look at how we spent these few hours together. Natually, Mason liked certain spots and activities more than others. He’s not a big fan of smelling flowers or picking them but is very much into all the buttons and clocks on the quad bike. He also is a natural when it comes to driving (or pretending to) a tractor. Once he gets on it he is totally obsessed and focused on the task. Oh Mason, you clever spark. You have a guaranteed career in agriculture ahead of you 🙂
Apart from a huge herd of milk cows and beautiful fields for the cows to graze on the family also have a gorgeous orchard with apple trees and others. Of course apart from the orchard offering a calming and relaxing feel it also worked as a great backdrop for some happy memories that we were creating together.
We spent the day just the way the family wanted: capturing the real, unposted and totally authentic moments for example in the barn or when Mason was playing on his toy tractor. But we also captured some beautiful location portaits that the family can display in their home. Souls revived, happy memories created and captured – mission accomplished. Can’t wait for another one 🙂
I also need to mention that as a send off I got gifted a bottle of fresh organic milk and a box of home made brownies that my family and I devoured like we never had eaten before 😛 I felt that it was not only Mason’s family photo shoot but also a great countyside retreat for me. Hardly any traffic, fields, brooks and mobile signal so week that you have no other choice but indulge in the beauty of the nature. Totally awesome.
Leah has already moved some of the older wall art pieced to make room for some fresh memories, beautifully printed for them and delievered with their package orders.
If you are looking for a good reason to book a photo shoot for yourself and your family – don’t wait until you find one. Life happens, things happen and there is NO reason to wait. You will never regret having your family memories photographed. Trust me, I’m a photographer 🙂
